Apply Anthropic colors and typography with brand-guidelines

On this page

brand-guidelines supplies a specific visual identity: Anthropic's colors and typography. Use it to make existing material consistent with that identity. It does not discover your company's brand or supply missing business content. For another organization, provide its own palette, fonts, and examples instead of assuming this skill contains them.

Install and invoke

Send these two commands in the Claude Code chat input, one at a time. They are plugin commands, not shell commands for your operating system. The second installs the official collection containing brand-guidelines.

Prompt
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/skills
/plugin install example-skills@anthropic-agent-skills

In your project conversation, ask Claude to “use brand-guidelines” and supply the task or files. The prompt below is an editable starting example. Installing the collection supplies instructions and resources; it does not supply your source material or guarantee that every runtime dependency is installed locally. If the skill is missing, check that its plugin is installed, enabled, and loaded in the current session. Do that before troubleshooting the requested output.

Check one page first

Provide an editable file and specify whether its content may change:

Prompt
Use brand-guidelines on the first slide of briefing.pptx.
Keep the facts, charts, and information hierarchy.
Apply Anthropic colors and heading/body fonts.
Show a preview and list font substitutions before updating the remaining slides.
Report text that does not fit rather than silently deleting it.

The main palette includes dark #141413, light #faf9f5, and two grays. Orange #d97757, blue #6a9bcc, and green #788c5d provide accents. Assign each a role. Headings, body text, backgrounds, and chart elements should not all compete for attention. On the sample slide, check whether chart series that previously relied on color remain distinguishable.

Headings use Poppins and body text uses Lora, with Arial and Georgia as fallbacks. The instructions discuss headings of 24 points and above, but your existing document hierarchy still matters. A large label should not automatically become a main heading simply because it crosses a size threshold. Give the agent the original structure or template to preserve.

Extend the mapping to the full artifact

After approving the sample, apply the same color and font roles to the remaining material and ask for a list of elements that could not be preserved. Actual PowerPoint editing can be handled with the pptx skill; web content requires appropriate stylesheet editing. This skill provides styling guidance rather than a standalone converter for every file type.

Review heading wraps, table widths, body readability, and gray text on light backgrounds. Font fallback makes content displayable, but it does not make fonts visually identical. Open the result in the application and environment where it will be used, especially when Poppins or Lora may be unavailable.

If the result merely turns everything orange, clarify each color's role instead of adding more accents. If your goal is a custom company identity, supply that specification and explicitly replace the built-in identity. For selecting among several preset visual directions, theme-factory offers a more suitable choice-and-apply workflow.

Approve a mapping before changing a full deck

Ask the agent for a small mapping table first: existing element, intended brand role, and new style. Include headings, body text, chart labels, key figures, and backgrounds. Apply it to the entire file only after reviewing a sample. This prevents every element from becoming the same accent color. Categories in a chart must remain distinguishable; a brand palette does not replace the chart's data encoding.

Before handing work to an external client, confirm that Anthropic styling is actually requested. This skill contains Anthropic's visual rules; it does not discover an arbitrary company's brand automatically. For your own brand, supply its fonts, color values, and forbidden treatments explicitly, and do not present the built-in values as your organization's official guidelines.

A font rule is not a rendered result

After applying Poppins and Lora, open the file on the machine where it will be used. Arial and Georgia fallbacks prevent missing text, but they can change line breaks and chart-label widths. Inspect large cover titles, two-column pages, and compact tables. If the new font overflows, fix containers and spacing before shrinking everything. When colleagues will edit the file later, include a note about chosen fonts and fallbacks so layout changes on another machine are understandable.
